Dear Vog Lovers,
Generalissa JRo “ordered” me to take one for the team and I gladly complied. The Malibus are one of the sexiest pairs of boots around. I will be picking up these beauties soon BUT I’m wondering if you all could send me some outfit ideas. I’d love to hear your ideas and maybe, just maybe, I’ll pick up your idea and wear the outfit to an art opening.

Dorothy R. Santos, Ph.D. (she/they) is a Filipino American storyteller, poet, artist, and scholar whose academic and research interests include feminist media histories, critical medical anthropology, computational media, technology, race, and ethics. She earned her Ph.D. in Film and Digital Media with a designated emphasis in Computational Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz and was a Eugene V. Cota-Robles fellow. She received her Master’s degree in Visual and Critical Studies at the California College of the Arts and holds Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Her work has been exhibited at Ars Electronica, Rewire Festival, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the GLBT Historical Society.
Her writing appears in art21, Art in America, Ars Technica, Hyperallergic, Rhizome, Slate, and Vice Motherboard. Her essay “Materiality to Machines: Manufacturing the Organic and Hypotheses for Future Imaginings,” was published in The Routledge Companion to Biology in Art and Architecture. She is a co-founder of REFRESH, a politically-engaged art and curatorial collective and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Processing Foundation. In 2022, she received the Mozilla Creative Media Award for her interactive, docu-poetics work The Cyborg’s Prosody (2022). She serves as an advisory board member for POWRPLNT, slash arts, and House of Alegria. She is also co-founder and co-host of Five & Nine, a podcast newsletter at the intersection of magic, career and economic justice that provides an an ongoing critical discussion through readings, reflections, and debate.

Yes! A little black dress, maybe accented with a simple silver belt and of course, hoop earrings!
Btw. Don’t even try to blame me for this purchase. You know you needed an excuse to indulge. Besides, these are HOT! And you’re an art writer. Consider this an investment, as these could be a signature piece for you.
Which reminds me… I need to add “OTS” to the FluevAlabras. OTS = Over The Shoulders. These are definitely the type of boots that can dazzle your day and add sizzle to your nights;P

omg. all i can imagine with these boots is more black leather. patent. tight and form-fitting pants. or maybe a black leather vest worn with a high-neck, button-down blouse with long puffy sleeves, either black, cream, or gray. (with a riding crop?) *faints*
